It was a tough month for the little seedlings. Before Spring break, the students planted seeds of cucumbers, tomatoes, basil, beans (dry and green), peppers, eggplant, zucchini, and yellow squash. Many of the little plants could not survive our hundred plus heat, so we will plant them again. When you plant seeds you must water them every day - they are like little babies who need to eat all the time - but even that was not enough. The strawberries suffered too -they like cool spring weather. Luckily the vegetables planted earlier in the year did not seem to mind! We harvested a bumper crop of different lettuces, radishes, carrots and peas.
